  GENERAL INFO:
1993: Garba was a member of Nigeria's team to the All Africa Games 1993.

1996: He was a member of the gold winning Nigerian Olympic Team in Atlanta
1996. Featured in all games, starting in the semi-final against Brazil.

1997: Garba made his international debut under Dutchman Thijs Libregts, in
a World Cup 1998 qualifier away against Kenya in 1997.

1998: He is a regular for Nigeria's Super Eagles in the World Cup 1998,
starting all games, and scoring the equaliser (2-2) against Spain, his
first goal for the National Team, after a horrible mistake by goalkeeper
Andoni Zubizarreta, in a game Nigeria later won 3-2.

  2000:Garba was one of two over-aged players in the Nigerian team for
Sydney 2000. Used as a ball winner in the central midfield, and standed
out as one of the best Nigerian players in the tournament, and also
scored the important goal against Italy in the last group game, on a
superb penalty kick.

2002: Featured in all of Nigeria's matches at the African Nations Cup, and
scored the lone goal in the quarter-final victory against Ghana.

2004: He was in the 22-man squad for the 2004 African Nations Cup.
He played a huge part at the tournament and also grabbed a goal in
Nigeria's 2-1 win over Benin.
